What's happening

PayPal is phasing out Express Checkout, All-in-one payment solutions (Payments Standard, Payments Pro, and Payments Advanced), and Gateway solutions (Payflow Pro and Payflow Pro Link) as part of its effort to unify checkout offerings and move toward more modern solutions.

 

What this means

 

These payment solutions are available within Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source and are powered by PayPal. If you currently use any of them, you may receive emails or notifications from PayPal regarding your account. While these solutions will continue to function, PayPal will only provide critical security updates—no new features or enhancements will be introduced. Onboarding to these solutions is strongly discouraged. If you’re unsure of your current payment solution’s status, refer to the PayPal Upgrade Resources below.

 

If you’re using one of these solutions, begin planning your upgrade to a supported solution (referenced below) for the best customer experience and support. Note that there is no immediate need to upgrade your Adobe Commerce or Magento Open Source instance; however, your current version will determine the most appropriate upgrade path.

 

 

Why you should act now

 

PayPal will eventually retire these older solutions. Upgrading now ensures you can continue accepting payments reliably and allows you to maintain key benefits.
